Civil Edge delivers the practical field leadership, documentation, safety, quality, scheduling, and planning skills that most people in the industry never get through formal education — taught from 12+ years of hands-on field and management experience across Kiewit and multiple BC contractors. It’s built around the goal every contractor shares: a team that holds the same standards and pulls in the same direction, all working from the same playbook. Programs run as scheduled cohorts or as custom in-house sessions year-round.

Foreman Foundations
The Difference Between Good and Great
The foreman is the first line of defence for safety, quality, and production — the first to see a change in the field, the first who can catch a quality issue before it becomes rework, and the person whose daily calls drive the crew’s output. This one-day intensive teaches the whats, whys, and hows of the skills a foreman needs to lead at a high level, built specifically around BC civil infrastructure work. It is also the foundation for the next step: the superintendent path.

Superintendent Excellence
Owning the Whole Job
A foreman is responsible for a crew. A superintendent is responsible for the site and everyone on it — the safety of every employer on the job, the company’s position in the contract, the schedule, the quality, and the coordination of every crew, sub, and supplier. This three-day course teaches the whats, whys, and hows of running a whole project through your foremen. It goes a level deeper on the how than Foreman Foundations — because a superintendent’s job is judgment under pressure, and judgment only sticks once you’ve walked it.

Civil Project Coordinator Pipeline
A planned three-level certification pathway that will take new and developing project coordinators from industry fundamentals through to advanced project and stakeholder management.
Coming early 2027 — this program is currently in development.
- Basics: Industry fundamentals and how civil infrastructure projects come together, blueprint reading, navigating MOTT and MMCD specifications to find answers, safety documentation, field communication, quality requirements and documentation — for new grads & career changers
- Intermediate: Scheduling, look-ahead planning, procurement, RFIs, change management, subcontractor coordination — for coordinators with 1–3 years experience
- Advanced: Estimating, cost control, forecasting, client & stakeholder management, risk mitigation, leadership, Indigenous relations — for intermediate PMs & senior coordinators
